Using better rental companys. Quality car rentals I was not impressed with. The car was filthy, very damaged, not full of gas (when a free tank was part of the deal), socks hanging up on the inside, and more importantly, near bald tyres on the rear which were most likely illegal. Not a good look. Transfercar though is a great service

More info re type of camper van. We thought we were getting a 2 berth hi top. Ended up with a Sprinter, basic. No power connection and no heat unless we ran the engine. A tad cool when it's 4^C.

We were not made aware of the insurance excesse ia need option to pay the insurance until we arrived at the desk? We felt that a note about the insurance requirements should be on the website upfront. Apart from that we were impressed in the manner in which we were advised and treated.

Despite being told that my reservation included 1 free Tank of fuel (ie. Return the car empty). Upon return, I was charged for the refuel costs as well as service charge in full by the rental company thrifty
