My main issue is reliability and consistency. Some rental companies are excellent eg Hertz but others not so good. Long waits (well over 24 hours to get a response) even after reapplying 2 or 3 times. Then maybe a declined application. Sometimes accepted but no notification or rental number from Rental Car Company. One time I had a rental accepted, flew to the pickup destination only to find no one at the branch. After much chasing around the neighbour managed to get the keys and locate the vehicle. I have given up on some applications as reliability is of the utmost importance as I use the relocations for business. Unfortunately service has deteriorated. I am waiting for a car to be approved as I message.

Just be good to be able directly liaise with the operators before committing. Sometimes you might want to check if you can leave slightly earlier etc.
