Transfercar itself was fine and easy to use but the provider used was subpar with service. I would suggest reviewing them as a provider

Twice I've been charged a premium location fee this time it was $10.47 and last time in Wellington I was charged $50 because the pick up was at Wellington Airport. This was particularly annoying because I even went to the airport city office a day beforehand as it would have been more convenient for me to pick it up in the city AND the car was being moved by the rental car firm to the airport for pick it. These were charged by the rental car company, I would have thought these charges should not apply for a relocation when the locations are chosen by the rental care firm. When I was looking to book, a number of transfers show a 1 day or more relocation but the days don't have a diagonal line through the days either side. There's no option to pick the car up say midday and drop it back the next day (within 24 hours). You can't query this until you've actually booked the car. When I tried to explain I wanted to pick the car up and drop it back within 24hrs I was charged for 2 days. I would have thought a 1 day hire/relocation would be for a 24 hour period. The locations where to grab the car and where to drop off could be more clear, because on the map it showed the locations quite centrally and for real we had to take a bus for an hour each time.

On the info given it stated a 300 dollar bond , but on pick up from 1000 was demanded , which was a headache as we had planned for the 300 in the budget. Otherwise fine.

1. Be honest and open about the vehicle a person gets. Requested an automatic two wheel drive high top Campervan and got a fuel guzzling 4WD budget pop top vehicle - manual transmission.
