Options for reducing excess

There's so much more fine print these days with each rental company being allowed to make their own rules, I just completed a transfer where I wasn't allowed to reduce the excess from $2000 which I was very uncomfortable with as I had assumed I'd be able to pay a small reduction fee when I made the booking as usual. If there could be some standardisation of excess cover it would be much more appealing for us as drivers to ensure that even if the worst happens we are still getting a better deal than hiring a car. Otherwise what's the point?

We had real trouble contacting Transfer Car over Easter. Despite numerous phone calls which dropped out and emails we got no response even a temp late saying we are closed over Easter please contact us on Tuesday for instance.

I rented a listed vehicle, however upon pickup, it was a different vehicle. I called Camperman and they said they they couldn’t list the vehicle they wanted to so they listed a different one. It should be agreed that the advertised vehicle is the one you expect to pick up, and not a different vehicle.
