Well when we picked up the car at Wellington it was really clear we were gonna have a 4*4 and then they changed the car (maybe seing that we were 2young ladies ..?) They didn't tell us where our car was in the carpark they just let us go saying look at the number you will end up finding yours ... . Also the drop off location wasn't clear and we didn't get told if we needed to give it back with a fuel tank of fuel or not . By respect we gave the car back with the full tank and the lady at the drop off tell us we didn't have to but I didn't get paid back of anything . Also with the assurance it came to 92$/2 days . I'm currently renting a car that comes (rental price + assurance) to 80$/day so transfer car isn't actually a cheap alternative after all .

Been telling porkies about that free tank of gas again. Car was advertised with one bit the reality when dropping off car was “no sorry we never do that”. Can’t believe I didn’t read the fine print.

Sometimes if there is an overlap on two intended bookings, Transfercar doesn't allow the second booking to be made. For example, the other day I booked a Brisbane to Rockhampton relocation. I then fine tuned my travel, which meant I returned my car a bit earlier then intended. I then tried to book a relocation from Queenstown to Christchurch to line up with my arrival time. There was an overlap of a few hours when my original booking was taken into account, which meant that I had to book a day later then I would have liked and had to overnight with friends in Queenstown. Rather then have the booking blocked, a warning should appear This overlaps with an existing booking. Please ensure that your pick up time is correct.
