Harsh cancellation policy when arelocation is booked at short notice (so any cancellation notice is also unavoidably short) - this places the risk is entirely on the driver. Even if hardly any time has elapsed since making the booking, driver is still charged large sum if they must cancel. A hefty cancellation fee only makes sense if the rental company has had the booking in place for a while, so is likely to have relied on the arrangement

I would love if when we search for a car, the dates could be more flexible or if we had more options to make the search wider.

Ensure the vehicle I'm driving is the one I booked. I booked a 4x4 and ended up with a 12 seater HiAce van.

Some rental car companies are better to deal with than others. At present, we are unable to know the name of the rental company until our request has been approved. It would be good to know the name of the rental company before we request.
