I arrived and the rental company had given out my car. I had an appointment and had to be assertive otherwise I would’ve had to wait and hour which meant I would’ve missed my appointment - defeating the purpose of my trip. In the end they gave me a car they had on hand anyway.

Maybe that company stipulating that even if you don't have a bond you still need to have a credit card. Other companies I've travelled with don't require one if you pay full insurance. I should have called ahead first

They should offer an extra day from Cairns to Brisbane. At least 7 days.

Generally, I'm very happy. The last transfer I did (Dec) didn't include the driver ferry fare. I wasn't aware of that.
