The van was a fuel guzzler. The tank of fuel provided was insufficient to transport the vehicle back to adelaide. I did 1200km and spent around $110 on fuel. Ie i did an extra 300-400 km more than Melbourne to Adelaide distance. The person in Adelaide said they had small engines but there was no offer to reimburse. So with insurance the journey cost around $200.

we were never told that relocations don’t get shuttle to airport and so got left at the hire place with young children while other ‘customers’ got shuttles to airport!

I would normally plan in advance to do something like this, and I know its not always possible to have cars available on your website in advance. It would be helpful if I could register what I am looking for (i.e route, vehicle type and date) and then get alerts when they become available.

I have noticed a trend in less fuel being covered now. A few years ago, most cars came free fuel and ferry. These days it seems there are now minimal vehicles available with fuel included. This is no longer worth for me to move cars around. The other factor is the cost of insurance. I had an excess of $3500 in the last car, and had to pay $35 a day to lower the excess, which I chose not to do due to the cost. For a 2-3 day move, this is out of my affordability and dont loe the thought of $3500.

Took the Budget agent at SeaTac a little longer to check in the car because it didn’t have a bar code in the front windshield but otherwise everything went smoothly! Budget agents at Kalispell airport were very efficient and friendly.
