More generous deals with rental car providers would be appreciated. We absolutely loved the experience of relocating a 7.7m long RV/motorhome from Christchurch to Auckland, and very grateful for the free hire. But after the cost of ferry (not included, $480.24), fuel (they reimbursed a max of $150 out of $300+ in diesel), road user charges ($80 for 1000km), and excess reduction ($80) it was a bit more than we initially expected. Understand it's not in your control, but more all-inclusive relocation deals would certainly make it a more attractive option and still save the providers $$ given it is far more expensive to relocate their vehicles using trucks!
