Experience with the hire of a Jucy Camper Agreement number #ADL 353393 Licence plate Number 025 VXC on the 3 July 2023 Original Booking Number was #U-ADL- 1417603 • Around 9am Met at Jucy Adelaide by a Justin or a James) who was the location Manager in Adelaide. • The vehicle was an old Tarago camper with 400,000+klms on the clock. Mind you it had been preset to zero before I discover the actual mileage later. • Very old worn out interior as typified by the worn steering wheel and old floor carpets • I then told us the passenger sliding door does not work and that was the reason it was going back to Brisbane. o To open the door you had to open the front door and put hand threw so you could push inside and outside bottoms simultaneously. The rear drivers side sliding door was not much better. o When we thought about it later this was a real trap for anyone sleeping in the van at night as they could not get out from the inside. You could not open the door to make the bed let alone sleep in there. • He also showed us how to use the fridge and was told not to worry if the error light on fridge started to flash. He then said it the fridge doesn’t work get some ice and use as an Esky. • The tap did not work but he said it might be empty and the guys did not fill it. He said that “ You would not want to drink Adelaide water anyway and that they use the hose over there ( pointing to a garden hose) to fill it but did not offer to fill there and then and simply said to buy a 10l cask form the shop and that we would be reimbursed in Brisbane. • This car was checked out and signed off Alex/James We stupidly accepted the car thinking “well it would be adventure” and not realising that the sliding doors not opening were a safety hazard. We drove down to Willunga and stopped there as every time we braked the car veered to the left and actually nearly run us into concrete bollards when we had to stop quickly. We ran the National Road assistance centre on 1800150850. We asked to be put through to the Adelaide office and the lady “ Sev” was actually very abrupt in telling us she was not authorised to do that and that the Road Assistance would call us within 60 minutes. She had not customer service skills at all and gave us no reason why she could not simply put us through to the Adelaide office if she could not give their number. She would not give us a reference number for the call. We waited over an hour for the Road Assistance call but nothing. We decided to very carefully and slowly drive it back to the Adelaide depot. We were given a replacement Camper with paper work. We drove this second car. 754 ZNU at 2.05pm. Checker by employees Melk and Yaman. Got to Adelaide and they found us another Van with only 219,000 klms but it had been resprayed and looked nice so after multiple assurances we accepted and got their direct number. Drove 4 klm to Glenelg to show Lydia this very beautiful spot. Parked the car and noticed the bottom trim of the door was loose. It was flapping. I called the Jucy Depot and they said oh yes we know about that but didn’t have time to fix it. I said you didn’t mention it or put it on the history sheet and he said no worries he would do it now. I took a video and bought four bull dog clips and secured it for the journey. On reflection I thought they have again knowingly sent us out on the road to Brisbane with an unroadworthy car knowing that the panel at the bottom of the drivers door was only held on by one clip and had not mentioned it. If it had fallen off in Traffic it could well have caused an accident. Totally unacceptable and we had to get a motel accommodation that evening and took it back the next day. It could us $158 in accommodation. The Adelaide Jucy Centre Manager did not even offer an apology or offer to drive me 4klm back to Glenelg. Very abrupt and unpleasant this time. A dreadful Jucy experience. We will never recommend this company to anyone. They twice sent us out in knowingly Unroadworthy and unsafe cars . Laurei Kelly 0414 671 990
