It failed once, nearly resulting in disaster. If it weren't for a friend at Hertz, I would have been stuck. There was a problem with the booking, and when I arrived at the rental location, they couldn't resolve it quickly, despite having the car available. This incident occurred during my second-to-last trip to Christchurch, after which I rented a car from Christchurch to Dunedin. The leg from Nelson to Christchurch was the issue. Aside from that, it's a great way for me to travel and visit friends and family I wouldn’t see otherwise.

Even if the whole procedure was really good, before cheking in I felt insecure about the renting operation. I guess that some confirmation email that clearly shows the link between transfercar and rental operator would be nice.

It would be good to know who the rental car companies are before we book. Also it would be good to be able to write a note to the rental car company before locking in the contract. For instance, when I see a transfer that is just about to run out on the site, it would be good to ask if it's possible to extend the time available - because they must be going to relist it.
