Issue was less with transfercar and more with the campervan hire company. Terrible communication, extremely delayed pick-up, failure to offer reduced excess on insurance despite requesting more than once then very unluckily having a windscreen crack which resulted in a $1000 excess which basically wiped out any point to doing a relocation.

Assistance required to complete relocation during flood events: Navigation, financial help with added fuel costs, extension on time allocated. All fine otherwise.

Service was great. Car was clean and tidy however felt annoyed that the cleaner had put silicone on the steering wheel and gear shift which made it slippery and also left residue on my hand. If they do need to silicone it then they should atleast wipe the excess silicone off the steering wheel or don't put silicone on it and just wipe it with a cloth. Drop off was easy and good service again.

More staff at busy times. I waited 3 hours to collect my vehicle. The ferry I had booked for the same day had to be rebooked for the following day.

I tried contacting bothTransfercar Europecar after returning the car then receiving the final bill. My transfercar confirmation said 900kms were included 1 free tank of gas. When fueling I put in minimal fuel based on that. However the bill charged $4.99/litre total of nzd200 for fuel. I checked their contract. lo behold it said fuel was not included at all. Returning the car was simply handing in the key inside the terminal. All other rental companies had representatives in kiosks at the parking bays to interact with. If this was the case I would have been informed the fuel would be charged for and could have driven down the street to fuel it. I feel we were scammed. being taken advantage of has left me resentful of both companies particularly since both emails sent to each company were undeliverable. I feel like any recourse is purposefully avoided
